I'm just a 30 year old gal living in the middle of the USA. Work too much, don't play enough. Love photography, ice hockey, playing bass guitar, and most anything British.

Short and sweet, just like me.

So I just wrote the wedding ceremony in the matter of.. well, minutes really. Almost feels like it will take longer to recite it.

On behalf of Faun and Marcus, I want to thank you all for being here today.  We have many reasons to celebrate right now. It is a great day, the sun is shining, there isn’t a foot of snow on the ground (unless you’re into that sort of thing, and I apologize), the holidays are upon us.  And these two have given us another reason to be together and celebrate this season - the love that these two share.

Faun and Marcus, you stand side by side, about to become husband and wife.  You will look to each other for comfort, for support, for understanding, encouragement, and protection. You must never take each other for granted, and always consider each other, along with yourself.

Since it is your intention to marry, join your right hands, and declare your consent.

Marcus, do you take Faun to be your lawful wedded wife, to have and to hold from this day forward, for better or for worse, richer or poorer, in sickness and in health, as long as you both shall live?

(He better say “I do.”)

Faun, do you take Marcus to be your lawful wedded husband, to have and to hold from this day forward, for better or for worse, richer or poorer, in sickness and in health, as long as you both shall live?

(She’ll say “I do” - I know she will.)

The wedding ring is a circle unbroken, without beginning or end. Today, you will give and receive these rings as confirmations to join their lives, to work at all times to create a love without end.

Marcus, take this ring and place it on Faun’s finger, and state your pledge to her, repeating after me.

With this ring, I thee wed.

I offer you my hand, and my heart

as I know they will be safe with you.

All that I am I give to you

and all that I have I share with you.

(repeat for Faun)

Despite this being a rather short speech, the commitment these two have just made is quite large. The vows spoken were spoken in minutes, but the promises will last a lifetime.  By the power vested to me by the state of Kansas, and the ironic twist that an atheist was ordained by the Universal Life Church, it is my great honor to pronounce them husband and wife.  You may high-five your bride!
